Perennial distribution
22. May 2023 - 28. May 2023
I engage myself for more biodiversity at home
As part of the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall Week, a free wild perennial distribution campaign will take place from May 22 to 28. The aim is to promote biodiversity in the villages of the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall and to create an additional foraging offer for insects. Free sets of 6 native wild perennials each, adapted to the different soil types in the region, will be handed out. The distribution is financed by the environmental fund project “D’Naturparken zu Lëtzebuerg – (een) Insekteräich”. The number of sets is limited, and distribution will take place in the autumn at various pickup stations, which will be announced shortly beforehand by email.
The sets distinguish between species adapted to clayey or sandy soils. To guarantee a successful growth, please let us know which soil is predominant at your home. If you are unsure, please use the following guide to determine your soil.
Advantages of planting native wild perennials:
- Low maintenance
- Suitable for balcony and garden
- Variation with the season
- Promotion of flora and fauna
- Long-lived and hardy plants that do not need to be replanted every year
To sign up for the promotion, please send us your contact information and soil type to insekten@naturpark-mellerdall.lu or call 26 87 82 91 – 33.
