The Orchard Meadow Competition 2024 celebrates the preservation and care of traditional orchards and promotes awareness of their ecological, cultural and economic importance as part of the Mount vum Bongert (Month of the Orchard). Orchard meadow owners and managers from the region are invited to present their orchards and compete against each other using various assessment criteria. The competition aims to highlight and reward the best practices in the care and management of orchards.

Evaluation criteria

• Care and management (tree care, grassland care, utilisation)
• Overall appearance and impression (aesthetics and landscape, creativity and innovation)
• Special features (rare/special varieties, biodiversity, other)

Prize

200€ voucher from an arborist (pruning, replanting, other care measures)

Competition procedure

• The deadline for participation is 25.10.2024
• Evaluation of the applications
• Visit to the orchards
• Announcement of the winner
