Geoheritage Days: Guided hike to the Geosite Wollefsschlucht

Get to know the geosite Wollefsschlucht on a guided hike!
Geographer Birgit Kausch shows and explains the 40-metre-deep gorge in the sandstone, which can be found near Echternach and impresses with its height and narrowness. Exactly 140 years ago, the Wollefsschlucht was opened up for tourism and has attracted numerous visitors ever since.

The Geoheritage Days
On Saturday 4 September and Sunday 5 September, the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall and the Minett UNESCO Biosphere are jointly organising the first edition of the “Geoheritage Days” in Luxembourg.
This will give everyone the opportunity to get to know the geological heritage of both regions that is worth protecting. The aim is to raise awareness of this heritage, which is unique to Luxembourg, and beyond the borders of the Grand Duchy, in both regions.
